Wildflower Walk at Standing Rock Overlook, Blue Ridge Parkway
Wildflower Walk at Standing Rock Overlook, Blue Ridge Parkway
April 19, 2024 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
We will be meeting at the Standing Rock Overlook to go walk the beautiful Rich Cove Woods along the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. We will park at the overlook, and then take a short and briefly steep trail, where we will be surrounded by beautiful Spring wildflowers on all sides. The trail takes us past Old Growth Trees, and along a creek.
Here is a link to google map directions: https://goo.gl/maps/mG36XZbwC2NxtQsS7
And, while there are not any write-ups about the trail, I guarantee that this is not a spring walk to be missed.

April 26, 2024 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
We will be visiting one of the most special places in all of Southern Appalachia, Panthertown Valley. Called the "Yosemite of the East" Panthertown is an incredible hiking, camping, fishing destination located near Cashiers, NC. It is also filled with beautiful waterfalls, scenic views, and of course wonderful wildflowers.
We will be meeting at the Salt Rock Trailhead and Parking area, and will walk from there to the Salt Rock Overlook. If you have hiked here in the past, then you know that this is about a 20 minute walk, at hiking speed. In typical Wildflower walk fashion, we will spend our time walking slowly and meeting all kinds of beautiful Plants and Flowers along the way.
